Visiting Florida Grand Opera for the first time is an unforgettable experience. To ensure you enjoy every moment of our performances and the vibrant Miami scene, here’s everything you need to know before you go!
Arrive early
The performance will begin promptly at the time indicated on your ticket. Arriving early ensures you don’t miss a moment of the action.
Pre-performance talk
Enhance your experience with a free pre-performance talk in the auditorium one hour before each show. It’s a great way to dive deeper into the opera and its background.
Late seating
As a courtesy to the performers and fellow audience members, latecomers will be asked to wait in the lobby until a suitable break in the performance. You may be assigned alternate seating at the discretion of the House Management staff.
Easy-to-follow translationsEasy-to-follow translations
Our theaters are equipped with screens that display translations in multiple languages, so you can easily follow the story. Translations are available in English, Spanish, and German, with Italian translations for operas sung in Italian.
Dress to impress
Miami’s flair for style makes the opera the perfect opportunity to dress up! While there is no formal dress code, many guests take the opportunity to showcase their best looks. Check out our social media for fashion inspiration from past performances.
Dining, refreshments, and intermission adventures
Refreshments are available before the show and during intermission at both our Arsht and Broward Center locations for MainStage operas. Take advantage of the break with a glass of champagne or a quick snack from our refreshment stations. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the performance and mingle with fellow opera lovers.
Ample parking and Valet
Both the Arsht Center and Broward Center offer various paid parking options, as well as valet services for your convenience.
Opera talk-backs
Stay after the performance for an engaging Q&A session. It’s the perfect chance to learn more about what happens behind the scenes.
Children
To ensure the best experience for all patrons, children under six years old are not permitted in the theater.
Ticket exchanges
Tickets can be exchanged until 4:00 pm on the day of a weekday performance, or by 4:00 pm on Friday for a weekend performance. Exchanges can be done in person, by mail, or by phone with a $10 fee per ticket (free for subscribers). Please note, exchanges are not available at the performance venue and are subject to availability.
Can't use your ticket?
If you are unable to attend, you can donate your ticket back to FGO for a tax-deductible receipt.
Forgot your ticket?
No worries! The box office staff can issue you a location pass for your seat when you arrive.
